Revolutionary Device Now Available

VANCOUVER, Canada (Nov. 25, 2013) – Aegis Mobility, the global leader in solutions to prevent distracted driving, announced today that it has partnered with Audiovox Electronics Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of VOXX International (NASDAQ:VOXX), to provide the safe driving solution component for the Car Connection™ Elite Series. Car Connection is a revolutionary device now available that provides users with the ability to monitor, manage, and maintain their vehicle's health, driving habits, location, and even restrict cell phone use in one integrated plug-n-play on-board diagnostic (OBD-II) device with wireless connectivity.

Driver distraction from the use of smartphones and tablets in vehicles is a leading cause of accidents and a significant source of cost and risk to drivers. According to the National Safety Council, mobile device use is a contributing factor in an estimated 23 percent of all motor vehicle crashes. Audiovox Car Connection will now include ZoomSafer® technology from Aegis Mobility, which is a software solution for tablets and phones that works in conjunction with a wireless OBD-II device to enforce safe driving policies related to the use of mobile devices. When driving is indicated, the software places the device in safe mode, automatically eliminating all distractions.

“We are pleased to offer our customers access to the industry-leading distracted driving solution provided by Aegis Mobility,” said Tom Malone, president of Audiovox Electronics. “We look forward to working together to address this ever-growing concern and making communications in cars safer.”

Paul Zimmerman, CEO for Aegis Mobility, commented, “Audiovox continues to demonstrate leadership in the Connected Car space and we’re confident that this partnership can help to shape the future of safe communications while driving.”

With the Audiovox Car Connection Elite, consumers will be able to access up-to-the-minute information through a mobile app or web interface.
